Vibroacoustic therapy (VAT) is an FDA-recognized therapy that uses low-frequency sound vibrations to promote relaxation, well-being, and healing. VAT involves lying on a comfortable specialized sound bed that is equipped with sensors/transceivers that emit low-frequency sound vibrations. These vibrations create a therapeutic effect on the body and mind.
We offer traditional and contemporary vibroacoustic therapy using specialized sound beds. Traditional VAT does not incorporate music or use headphones. Contemporary VAT does incorporate music and headphones and can be further customized to include elements like ASMR or a client's personal music. Your practitioner can assist you in choosing the most effective and enjoyable session for your needs and preferences.
Vibroacoustic therapy allows the nervous system to reset itself. It has been proven to increase circulation, reduce pain, and improve mobility. It can also enhance cognition, alleviate stress and anxiety, and improve sleep quality. Almost anyone can benefit from VAT. It's especially helpful for people that would benefit from: stress management, decreased anxiety, increased circulation, improved mobility, sharper mental clarity, enhanced sleep, and metabolic increase, among others.
VAT is generally considered safe for most people. However, it is not recommended for individuals with Cochlear implants, epilepsy, acute inflammatory conditions, psychotic conditions, pregnancy, thrombosis, hypotonia, and low blood pressure.
Wear comfortable clean clothes and socks that support ease of movement. Don’t wear anything that may puncture or scratch the sound bed. Drink plenty of water before your session. VAT activates digestion and circulation, and being well-hydrated will help you feel your best. You can also think of an intention or goals you wish to achieve with your session. Common goals include stress reduction, pain management, mental clarity, relaxation, releasing the past, being fully present, and better sleep.
